A Gift in Tones of Pink

I received a gift the other day, a pot of ornamental cabbage.

I have seen ornamental cabbage in pictures but never had any myself. Now I do.

My generous gift will live for a few more months, probably dependent on the weather.

This plant is prettier than I ever thought - if I had considered that at all.

Now it adorns my front stairs and brightens my day.

  1. Beautiful, and they last the whole winter, especially if your winter isn't too warm. I have had ornamental cabbage a couple of times and some winters are just too warm here in London, the aphids have been rife and the cabbages have become leggy. No danger of that the last couple of winters, it's been very cold and this winter seems to become perfect for ornamental cabbage :-)

    1. Hi Helene, I will keep my fingers crossed then that we have a cold enough winter to keep the bugs at bay.

  2. Dobrze, że już masz zdjęcia, czyli problem z nimi rozwiązany na szczęście. Prezent jest śliczny i oby długo cieszył Cię. Pozdrawiam.
Well, you already have images, which solved the problem with them for good luck. Gift is a pretty long time and I hope you enjoyed. Yours.

    1. Patty, have a great holiday season. I know Santa might be a bit peeved at me with my last post. He does not like taking sides with the gnomes.

  4. That is a beautiful way to grow a plant that can be quite ugly when bedded out. You wouldn't even know it was the same thing.

  5. Your ornamental cabbages pot is just lovely and will look wonderful well into winter. Happy holidays Patty and all the best for the new year!
